Being a self-starter is hard. It takes a ton of tenacity. I mean a TON!

This path isn’t for the faint of heart. When the excitement fades and no one is clapping for you, you’re still expected to get up and do the work.

Especially when YOU have others relying on you.

You have to keep on marching on even when you’re exhausted and have no more to give, all-with-a-smile-on-your-face.

That internal compass, keeps pushing you to next goal, marker, reward that you give yourself and your business.

Celebrate those wins, even if they are small. Little wins eventually turn into big wins.

You don’t perfect conditions or external validation from others to keep on going.

You just need the fire inside you to have to build and rebuild over and over again. Create that system, tweak that system, throw out that system that no longer suits you.

Motivation It comes and goes.
Sometimes you wake up inspired and ready to crush it.

Other times you wake up tired, overwhelmed, maybe even defeated.

But the work still needs to be done.

That’s where discipline steps in.

Why?

This is the point where others quit.

And let’s talk about distractions—because they’re everywhere.

Your phone, inbox, the laundry, the news, the notifications, the doubts in your head.

It’s easier than ever to get pulled in 100 different directions. A self-starter has to consciously choose focus, over and over again.

I recommend writing out goals to accomplish daily, weekly, monthly, annually.

I am not talking about domestic responsibilites either. God knows there is always some sort of “house duty” that needs to get done!

It also means saying no when it would be easier to say yes.

It means working during the quiet moments when no one’s watching.

It means doing the unglamorous, unfiltered, repetitive stuff that actually moves the needle.

Being a self-starter is about doing what needs to be done, especially when it’s inconvenient, uncomfortable, or uncertain. It’s not a personality trait—it’s a skill you sharpen every day.
